I decided to take the Water Colors for Cardmakers class this time around since it seems to be the big thing right now. I do not paint or watercolor so I was a little worried that my cards would not come out so nice. I already have a few distress ink pads and markers but ended up purchasing watercolor paints and paper. So glad I decided to try it out. After the first two classes I got to work and found that this is so easy, and if you mess up in watercolors no one would ever notice.
This was the first card I made, well maybe second, I messed up the first one. But I really do like the way it turned out. I used a stamp block and placed my ink on the top portion of the block and sprayed it was a mist of water then laid it down on the watercolor paper and let the paper soak up the color. I did the same with the rest of the colors down the page turning the last one so I could get the rounded corner on both ends.

Not too sure I like the way this card came out, but it works and perfect for a Guy Card. I put down watercolor on the top portion of the card and laid a stencil over top while it was still wet. I had to tape it down to my surface to keep it down and still until my paper dried. I walked away and came back later to see the results.

On this card I used Embossing powder to get the resist effect. My white embossing powder it a bit old and I think this card would have come out much better if my powder was newer.

These are my favorite and love the way they turned out. I will definitely be using this technique often. I used Elmer's Cement glue to mask off the stamps, then water colored over the masking. It worked perfect....
